"I grew up Salvadorean in Miami, pronouns are she/they, non-binary~ right now things are kind of difficult moving back in with my family.
Because of the costs of things we’ve had to move into a small apartment that would fit all of us, currently trying to save so we can all get a bigger space.
Also trying to save up for my own gender transition. Im not really sure what else to share, I love creating in any form and going outside too.
Im trying to connect with teachers and practices that recognize beyond the physical of yoga, especially experiences who acknowledge the history, influences, and different states in which it might exist and how that can shape a community.
I tried finding online teachers before but ones who understood the BIPOC/queer and/or foundations of yoga weren’t practicing anymore online. The ones I did find were helpful for beginners but in the end I always felt my journey not going where I wanted it to, since a lot of white Americans don’t really share many of the experiences im trying to channel in my own practice.
Even in studios around me, it just all felt like a brand/product instead of something else. I tried searching again recently online and found your practice. I’m trying to channel in the different truths that is my body and spirit, get to know the philosophies and foundations of yoga and attempt to share and apply a greater faith and love to my community and myself.
Your practice seemed very welcoming and understanding of all these experiences which motivated me to become a student. Im not sure what other goals I’ll have in time but for now I just want to be a humble learner under your studio and experience a teaching that blooms many more things in my own life and people. I hope this helps, I know its a bit vague."
